Ms. King has over 30 years experience in a variety of organizations, including local, state, and federal government, higher education, non-profit, utility, and for-profit--her work with the CIA literally took her all over the world (including Stockholm, Sweden, pictured above). She has also served on professional and non-profit boards.
In 2019, Deena was hired by The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler), one of fourteen institutions in The University of Texas System, to design and implement "Compliance 2.0" (it goes without saying that she is using the the Compliance in One Page approach). In 2015, Deena was hired by Texas Woman's University (TWU), the nation's largest university primarily for women, to design and implement their first-ever compliance program. In this role, she was the primary architect of TWU's enterprise compliance strategy and was the overseer of all compliance processes.
In 2014, Deena and her team provided advocacy services during the 2014 Utah Legislative session (Senate Bill 93). This resulted in stronger internal audit requirements for state agencies. She has also served as the Interim Director of Audit for Salt Lake County, been the Program Manager of IT Audit/Compliance at NV Energy in Las Vegas, and was a key member of the team that designed the original Brigham Young University compliance program.
Over the past few years Deena has been invited to speak at regional and national conferences on a variety of compliance topics and has had articles published in Compliance & Ethics Professional Magazine and College and University Auditor Magazine.
Some of Deena's favorite author-mentors include Jim Collins, The Arbinger Institute, Stephen Covey, Patrick Lencioni, Roosevelt Thomas, C.S. Lewis, Marcus Buckingham, Adrian Gostick, and Chester Elton.
